When Something Feels “Off”

A simple truth most of us were never taught


Your body doesn’t just carry muscles, thoughts, and emotions.

It also carries energy—constantly interacting with people, environments, technology, and internal states.


You don’t need to understand chakras to work with this.

You only need to notice where you feel yourself.

And you’re about to do that now.


The micro-ritual (beginner-friendly, unavoidable by design)

As you read this sentence, notice your feet.

Not your shoes.

Not the floor.

Just the sensation of your feet.


Pause for one breath.

Now gently place your attention at the base of your spine.

No need to visualise anything.

Just notice: Is there tension? Warmth? Numbness? Neutrality?


Pause for one breath.


Bring your attention to the centre of your chest.

Again — not to change anything.

Only to notice.


Pause for one breath.


Finally, notice the space behind your eyes.

The place from which you’re reading.


Pause.


That’s it.

You’ve just completed a simple and basic full-body energetic check-in.

No technique.

No belief system.

Just awareness.


What you just worked with (without needing to know it)


For those new to this work, the body has seven primary energy centres that relate to:

  • Feeling safe and grounded

  • Creativity and flow

  • Personal power and digestion (physical + emotional)

  • Connection and emotional regulation

  • Expression and truth

  • Perception and insight

  • Meaning and integration


You don’t need to memorise them.

Your body already knows where they are.

Awareness is the access point.


For those already energy-aware (a deeper layer)


Beyond the central line of the body, energy also moves through:

  • The hands (giving, receiving, boundaries)

  • The feet (grounding, direction, stability)

  • The shoulders (burdens, responsibility, identity)

  • The space above the crown (guidance, coherence)

  • The space below the feet (belonging, embodiment on Earth)

A simple nightly or daily hygiene practice is not about clearing everything. It’s about returning what isn’t yours and calling back what is.

What am I carrying today that doesn’t belong to me anymore?

Before you move on with your day or night, consider gently asking:

If nothing were wrong with me… what might my body be asking for instead?

Let that be enough for now.
